The Disability Discrimination Act 1995
From 2004 it is now unlawful, for those providing services directly to the public, to
do so on different terms to a disabled (blind/partially sighted) person.
In short, this means more and more businesses and organisations are becoming DDA
compliant by installing Braille/Tactile Signs.
A Braille/Tactile Sign is designed to be used by blind & partially sighted people
Together with normally sighted people.
It looks similar to a normal sign, with some subtle differences.

These features allow partially sighted people
To follow the edge of the raised letters to
help define the wording, and the raised braille
dots are there for blind people to read.
